A year after GITEX made its Nigerian debut, the global technology platform returned in 2026 with programmes across Abuja and Lagos.
For Livespot, producing the second edition across Abuja and Lagos meant contributing to an established global platform while navigating two distinct Nigerian event environments.
The project brought together the people, technical infrastructure and physical production required to deliver both experiences.
The two assignments called for different approaches, shaped by the audience, programme and venue in each city.
Government Leadership & AI Summit, Abuja
The GITEX Nigeria Government Leadership & AI Summit took place on 31 August at the Lady Kwali Conference Centre, Abuja Continental Hotel.
The one-day summit brought together more than 500 dignitaries for conversations around government, artificial intelligence and Nigeria’s digital future.
Livespot handled the event’s branding elements alongside end-to-end technical and media production, managing the production from setup through the close of the summit.
The work covered the technical infrastructure supporting the programme, the visual environment within the venue and the media production required to capture the day’s proceedings.
GITEX Nigeria at Landmark, Lagos
In Lagos, GITEX took over Hall 3 at Landmark, with Livespot responsible for the Main Stage and the wider production around it.
The scope included stage build, end-to-end technical production, audio-visual, furniture, VIP-area branding and media production.
The physical environment was built around the Main Stage, with the surrounding production supporting the audience and VIP experience while providing the technical infrastructure required for the programme.
Livespot Scenic handled the scenic and physical production elements, bringing the stage and branded environments into the space.
Producing Across Two Cities
The Abuja and Lagos projects shared the GITEX identity but presented different production requirements.
In Abuja, the focus was a high-level Government Leadership & AI Summit with more than 500 dignitaries.
In Lagos, the production centred on a major Main Stage within the Landmark event environment.
For Livespot, this meant managing two production realities while maintaining the standard expected of an international platform. The work moved across scenic production, technical delivery, AV, branding and media, with teams working against tight installation and show schedules in each location.
The complexity was as much in the coordination as it was in the build itself. Equipment, crews, fabrication, technical systems and media teams all had to arrive, install and operate within the demands of live event production.
“GITEX Nigeria was an interesting project because it required us to think about production at two different scales and in two very different environments. Abuja was a leadership summit with a highly specific audience and programme, while Lagos required us to build and operate a Main Stage within a much broader event environment.
From the project side, a lot of the work was in the coordination: getting the right teams, equipment and production elements into place, keeping the different workstreams moving together and responding quickly when the realities of the venues required adjustments.
It was also important for us to understand that we were contributing to the experience of a global platform in Nigeria. The standard had already been established internationally, so our responsibility was to bring that same level of rigour to the local production while working within the realities of our market.
For Livespot, that is what makes a project like GITEX valuable. It gives us the opportunity to put our production capabilities to work on a complex international platform and demonstrate the depth of what can be delivered here.”
